WE BE Rollin' OUTDOOR LEARN TO Skate

ABOUT

Hi , my name is Brookelan.

Just recently I have opened We Be Rollin - Learn To Skate. To teach Calgarians how to skate on roller skates and roller blades. This all started with my mom, Tanya Roberts. She put me on skates at 13 months old and from then have been in love with skating. As I grew up with my mom being a competitive and beginners coach I started to learn and grow a passion for teaching. At 8 years old I was volunteering for Lloyd’s Recreation Learn To Skate class, helping younger kids or those who needed a extra hand. As I grew in coaching I got the wonderful opportunity to work with autism and down syndrome kids who were the most driven and passionate skaters I’ve gotten the honour in teaching. At 17 I was head coach of the kids group and till the last day at Lloyd’s we ran the class.

I couldn’t give up there. I truly love teaching others how to skate. We Be Rollin - Learn To Skate is the next level, starting outdoors June 2018 in Calgary. We are introducing two group classes and a drop in skate in Calgary communities. Riverbend and Woodbine, we hope to expand to offer the convenience around the city and indoors through the winters. We will also offer private one on one classes, and small group classes where we can come to you or we can use one of our locations and get you skating that day!

Now don’t get me wrong practice makes perfect like any new skill, but we will show you the tricks and step by step breakdown on the foundations in skating. Our group classes run on saturdays or sundays, with a one hour group lesson and 15 minutes before and 30 minutes after for practice time, which you are welcome to ask our coaches for help, that’s why were there! Kids and adults are split up during the lesson to provide the right teaching to each group and peace of mind for the adults to focus!

Calgary I want to get you skating down our beautiful paths confidently, it’s great for exercising, or just some family fun. It brings people together and brings positivity to your life. If you would like to continue with skating I have connections with Calgary’s Artistic Rollerskating Club, Calgary in-line Speed Club, Fresh Rollers - Roller dancing, and derby associations so we can take your new passion to the next level. Come roll with us in taking the roller sports community to the next level. We need a skater like you!
